Logic
is the classic game of mental skill coupled with luck, of which you'll need
plenty to succeed on a regular basis. The game, a freeware offering from Maximilian
Wimmer, does not attempt anything fancy - if you're looking for a game to
show off the capabilities of your Pocket PC, look elsewhere.
When the game starts, you are presented with four blank boxes and a selection of
colours (from four to seven, depending on your choice of difficulty) to choose
from. The aim of the game is to match the sequence of colours chosen by the
computer, a sequence that is obviously hidden to you. Each time you make a
guess, the computer will let you know how close you were by displaying the
number of colours which are correct but in the wrong box, and which are both the
correct colour and in the right box.
While I wouldn't go as far as saying that Logic
will provide endless hours of fun, it certainly is an enjoyable diversion if you
have a few minutes to idle away. The only criticisms I have are that there is no
on-screen differentiation between the numbers indicating correct colour/correct
box and correct colour/wrong box, and that the download is pretty hefty at
almost 2 MB. Fortunately most of this is the installer - the actual game only
takes around 57 kb of storage space on your device.
While Logic isn't going to set the
Pocket PC world alight, it is a fun little diversion and considering the price,
it's hard to argue.
